We celebrated the big 3 month milestone for our little baby TC this week 💙 Where does the time go?!
We figured we’d splurge on a bottle of champagne which we haven’t tried yet. This is not your standard Piper Heidsieck, it’s their Essentiel Cuvée Reserve which we bought for $65.
It’s made from the same base wines as the standard Piper NV however it has a lower dosage of 5g/l (therefore drier) and is aged an extra 12-18 months.
To be honest we found it really light and easy to consume. It’s a pretty white gold shade with tiny bubbles while on the nose there’s whiffs of camomile, pineapple 🍍, peach and minerality. In the mouth it’s smooth and delicate with more pineapple, stonefruit and crisp lemon.

Yeast, green apple, grapefruit, white blossom, and hint of crushed seashell. Quite sophisticated for the price. Bright acidity with round soft edge. Dry and delicate.
Based on 2016 with 20% reserve. Disgorged in 2020.

Not that exciting. Bubbles dissipated pretty quickly. Notes of pear.
