Clear, day bright, ruby red with garnet to orange rim variation, medium concentration, no evidence of gas or sediment, medium viscosity. The nose is elegant, delicate to moderate intensity, slightly vinous. Underripe red cherries, fermenting strawberries and cranberry. Dried red roses, baking spice and asphalt. Dusty smells, slight oak. Bone dry, medium body, red and black cherry notes, underripe raspberries and cranberries, tarry with forest floor, spicy cedary oak. Highly tannic, med + alcohol, med + acid, medium finish with med+ complexity. I like this bottle a bit more than the 09 vintage. It has the tannins i look for in Barolo. This is a great wine to use as a benchmark for Barolo.

Opulent, noticeable warmth & new French oak. Matched well however with Sal Baked Whole Duck w/ Grappa & Cherries!

Dusty, dark cherry, earth, herbal, sweet wood & leather... Persistent tannins, especially as it opens. Thinking still a bit young, but very nice. I like it more as time in the glass reveals the wine. :)

At Ralf and Lara in Mexico City. Blind with xinomavro. Loved it . Cherry chocolate tannins smooth. Darker than would think for 14 yr nebbiolo. Long. Delicious.

Fairly open when first popped cork. Decanting in the morning softened the tannins and very good with dinner. Might be better in 5 years but drinking nicely now if you decant it long enough.

This bottle definitely needed time to breathe but it was delicious with the braised short rib we ordered (made with Barolo as well).
