Feb 24th, 2015Never seen and never heard of! Well this 2010 impressed me greatly amongst all the Great Wines!! Big upfront fruit with breathing still showing mild tannins. Impressive first time for me. Who Carey's this in NJ??? You tell me. A good 93+ wine!

Part of Howell Mountain dinner.
Plush black and blue fruit forward and offset with a strong and well integrated spice. Boysenberries, sweet spiced black plums compote, and hints of blueberries with violets. Spice of vanilla, clove, all spice, sprinkles of cinnamon, and sweet vanilla. Pina makes some solid Cabernet and this doesn't fail to deliver.

On a road trip to Napa and stopped in San Francisco on our way. Nice Italian food to enjoy with this wine. Today was the Pina open house so I thought it was appropriate to enjoy one of their wines, even though we couldn’t be there.

Nice California Cab from Howell Mountain. Good amount of age and this is drinking well. The oak is still there and on first sip is a bit cloying but with a decant and some cooling that blows off and you’re left with just good fruit.
