Les Combes Saint-Aubin 1er Cru Chardonnay

Wow. Just a brilliant chard. So focused and pure. Impeccable balance with oak, fruit and acid. Length is astounding. Tension and purity. Breathtaking

Opened up nicely over 2 hours. A bit austere at first. Very pleasing. Kept coming back to tidal pool notes. Not really fruit driven in any way except maybe lemon. A good vintage not a great one.

Nice acidity and the oak integration is ok.

Saline and razor sharp. Be one to watch in a few years, but a bit lean and tight now for a 13

The most reductive PYCM 13 I've had. Shaving cream and motor oil.

Young! Sulphur on the nose snd lemon juice on the palate. Tasty juice, great producer just needs time.

Taught, youthful and complex. Flinty, mealy, nuts and tight lemon zest. Great body. Beautiful wine

2013 Youthful, great energy/acidity, even handed on the oak, really nicely done. Roast chestnuts, lemon thyme, corn husks, pleasing acorn kernel bitterness, salt and vinegar chips w mushy peas. Like it a lot, will age long time if I let it. Drunk w homemade risotto with green chilli olives, spicy pork meatballs.

Lemon citrus, pear, chalk & wet rocks, more of an austere style with refreshing acidity.
