Les Champlots Saint-Aubin 1er Cru Chardonnay

The one Burgundy in my lineup of 6 Chardonnays. Grapefruit/Citrus, some flint - not as smoky and sulphidic as the Giaconda. I thought some tasters might have thought the Giaconda was the white Burgundy (all tasted blind). 35 year old vines. Quite fine.

Struck matchstick and lemon. Flint D limestone. Bright and focused. Not weighty but bright and sharp

Quite reductive—a bit clunky compared to the Chateniere

Lemon meringue, lemon zest, crushed stone, sweet citrus acidic finish..

2014 + PYCM is a winning combo

makes you feel like Ice cube on your day off with a job

Another stunner. Bright, reductive and dense, textural and crystalline. I wasn’t expecting this to be more open than it was and enjoyed its pure but coiled nature. We gave it a few hours in a decanter and it gave back an evolving set of beautiful, fresh, clean and complex aromatics and flavors. Don’t hurry on these mid-level 2014’s from PYCM

Pale yellow. Lemon rind, dusty tones, almond oil, minerals. Enjoyable.

Outstanding, let breathe for an hour plus for full effect

I’ll say it. Find me a better all around white burgundy producer...
