My ex mother-in-law made a Swedish bread every year at Christmas. This brought all of it back, the yeast, cardamom and toasted almonds. It unfurled slowly, and my notes expanded accordingly—heady aromas of golden delicious apple, shortbread, dried honey, lemongrass, ginger and a delicate whiff of smoke. The mousse is very fine, and despite a vast, complex nose, it's razor-clean on the palate. Here, the terroir shines through tightly coiled acidity. Clean, pure layers of white grapefruit, chalk, and stone.

Sep 1st, 2015Surprised about how damn good this was! In a perfect spot right now, this classic wine is youthful and mature at the same time, with real density and racy acidity. Well done, especially from 2005.
