Meursault Chardonnay

Tight to start but evolved extremely well.

Ripe style - in the traditional of “butter and hazelnuts”

Pierre Boisson’s 2015 Meursault displays a seductive bouquet, which shows the ripeness of the vintage, yet perfectly balanced with the house style, as crushed oyster shell meets ripe tropical fruits, with notes of ginger, sage and white smoke.  It cascades across the palate contrasting textural richness with saline-minerals and biting acidity as a note of ripe yellow apple fills the senses.  The finish is long, gaining a savory edge, as hints of tropical fruit and exotic florals resonate throughout.

Very good quality but maybe not my style these days. The 15’ is a little rich and ripe for my liking. It shows the house style but honestly a little one dimensional and almost generic tasting. Not really what I expect for $100 yet it is indeed well made

Buttery, fresh lemons in the nose. Creamy but fresh, crisp and thin, vanilla, a bit oily. Lemons and white grapefruits. Very enjoyable.

Honeycomb and lemon on the nose. A bit creamy. On the palate it’s buttery and oily but not thick in viscosity. Very round and smooth on the palate with nice layers and integration of fruits and tertiary flavors.

Warm ginger and minerals, big wooden frame and less reduction than I was hoping for, but textural and wide open.

2014, focused, pure. Delightful.

Oxidized on the nose and a little reticent on the palate but ripping acidity.
