An attractive, mid-weight wine, Busso's 2018 Barbaresco Mondino offers plenty of up-front appeal and charm. Cherries in liqueur, cinnamon, dried rose petal and new leather lend aromatic presence. I would give the nervy tannins a few years to soften here, but would also not wait too long, as the 2018 comes across as a near-term drinker. The wine is a terrific offering for those getting into the category. There is a beautiful expression of fruit on the palate with round tannins that give a sense of place , which is quite nice for a Barbaresco of this caliber. Very nice style and it has accessibility young , which is great. Definitely worth a try and will not disappoint!
