Poggio Alto Governo All'uso Toscano Red Blend

Sangiovese based with small amounts of Colorino, Merlot and Cabernet. Made with
traditional method called “Governo al Uso Toscano,” which induces a second fermentation adding a small amount of dried grapes. Ruby with aromas of ripe fruits with wafts of floral notes. Palate flavors of cherry and raspberry with a bit of sweet spice. Rich soft tannins, nice balance, medium finish ending with mineral character. Tasting Sample.

5% ripasso brings some jam to the table, but in a nicely restrained fashion.

95% Sangiovese. 5% of the fruit is Ripasso.

Lovely wine, majority of red fruits with hint of vanilla.

Super smooth, round and surprisingly elegant. This wine reminds me of the rolling hills of Italy ...where not much disturbs the tranquility of the space. Goes well with deserts.

Aromas of ripe cherries, minerals and flowers. Cherry and raspberry on the pallet. Mild oak and medium body. Soft tannins for a young vintage.

Decent warmup

Disappointing for a Tuscan red. Too jammy for me. A little sour. Not dry enough.

Good. 2014 vintage.
