I visited the Phelps Creek tasting room in Hood River Oregon on a beautiful summer day and couldn't resist walking out with a bottle of Pinot Gris for use on another sunny afternoon on the back deck with friends. I would not consider this a serious wine but it works quite well as a conversational refreshment if served cold.
