The flesh of these grapes are colored red and the resulting wine is maroon almost black in colour. Very unique. Undergrowth and musky red fruits dominate. If you can even discribe these flavours!! Overwhelmingly earthy blackcurrant plum blackberry black fruit cranberry smoke.

Very interesting wine which develops nicely after an hour in the glass. Looks like squid ink in the glass it's so dark. Initial aromatics slightly reduced and cheesy but dissipates and opens into cassis and spices. Needs time to open up.

Gift from my kid's Georgian daycare owner, showing me what a "real saperavi" should taste like. Not so subtle dig to FLX producers working with same grapes. Overwhelmed with Brett. Nose and color didn't translate onto palate. A big meh, gave it 2 nights but underwhelmed both times.
