Pewsey Vale Vineyard
Museum Reserve The Contours Riesling

Starting to gain a little color and flavor development, but still comes across as younger than its 7 years. Lime and a little waxy/petrol thing, along with barely ripe tropical fruit. Easy to empty a glass.

Needs air to open up but when it did, lots of lemongrass, citrus, but above all, minerality (and Barbie doll)

The nose is all petrol. Lots of minerality on the palate with more of that rubbery petrol from the nose. Good acidity, with a little tingle on the tip of the tongue.

Tennis balls and plastic toys on the nose with only the slight whiff of green apples. Full bodied and medium-high alcohol. Dry and mineral on the palate.

Holy petrol! New can of tennis balls on the nose. Nice acidity and some Granny smith on the finish. Great aged Riesling.

2009. Very dry. Essentially no RS. Hints of pool toy and petroleum.

2009 vintage. Medium lemon hue. Huge minerality on the nose - wet rocks, lanolin. Citrus fruit spectrum - ripe lemon. Ripe green apple. Saline. On the palate, huge concentration - lemon pie, keylime pie, apple mince. High piercing acidity (traces of tingling fizz), but balances with the slight traces of residual sugar. Great mouthfeel - medium plus body. Medium alcohol. More floral, white flower and honeysuckle with air. Long finish. A superb example of an Eden Valley Riesling. NB: this is definitely worth cellaring - could develop in bottle nicely for at least a decade.
