Nature Reserve 92 Riesling

Intellectual and not hedonistic in any way. Total abscence of fruit, overwhelming herbal/mineral/mushroom/dirt/ash. Maybe there's a glimmer of preserved lemon? I loved tasting and dissecting and thinking about this wine, but I'm not sure I enjoyed drinking it.

So so weird. Mushrooms with salinity and bouncy ball.

This wine is possibly one of the most bizarre wines I've ever tasted. Tastes like someone flew to​ the moon and brought back something they let me lick.

Wow! Whacky. Caraway. Savory. Maitake mushroom umami craziness.

Austere and taut; high acid. Held up well over all these years.

Literally tastes like freshly shucked oysters

24 years on the leas. 24. Nutty Unami. A complexity and body bit off found in a sparkling wine. Fantastic.

A fierce, angular Sekt; geeky beyond belief and, on its own, verging on unpleasant, but it's kind of hard to tell whether you like it or not. Angela Merkel as a wine. The nose is musty dried fruit and oxidative without hitting the highs of nuttiness. The palate begins with hard bubbles and the sharpness of fresh lemon juice before deep and funky petrol notes come to the fore that are almost TCA-mouse but not quite.

Stunning! Full body, funky, sharp acidity, loads of mineral.
