My favorite Saar multi-vineyard Riesling blend. Picking up more tart green apple that prior bottles, also wet slate and light petrol notes are becoming apparent with more bottle age.

Great wine to sneak into a film festival in my water bottle tonight, yum!

Had with spicy tacos and it was brilliant. Mouthwatering sweetness, nothing cloying. Apples and pears and some salty kick.

Ripe apricot, apple, white flower / geometric and premises, sense of proportion

My go to, house Riesling, can't be overtaken at $18.
The '15 is slightly better, but you can't argue with the freshness of the current vintage.

Stellar performer at $18, you can't go wrong on this bottle.
Green apple, peach and nectarine, perfect acidity.

Lots of enjoyable trocken around, few as exuberant, long and well tensioned as Barrel X. 2017 is outrageous.

Yum! Earthy. Has the Lauer style but a fraction of the impact of his other wines. Still damn damn good. Drink all day every day type of wine

Yeah, finally picked up our cases this afternoon 😊
Looks like Florian Lauer got around to a label refresh for the '16 vintage, and picking up the (unregulated) feinherb designation this year, interesting... I'm guessing you won't see that on the EU distribution labels, I'll have to do some homework. (Update: SB at Vom Boden confirms mid vintage regulations drove the update, new label language/format is confirmed going forward.)

Nose picks up green apple, peach and nectarine, palate follows with the same, plus well balanced acidity, agree this is halbtrocken in style. Very nice bottle, less stunning than in years past, but admittedly it's is difficult to follow '14 & '15 as they were such amazing examples of what can be done with a multi-vineyard blend from across the Saar. Still a good value at $18.
