A Collection of great Australian Reds - Christmas Break up of the Tennis Group. Always a consistent Cuvée in the Penfolds stable but let down a little by the so so 2007 vintage in the Barossa. More savoury than fruit driven with liquorice and dark chocolate.

Velvety and generous wine, a nice and expressive Shiraz, matured for 12 months in old oak vats, a successful wine easy to find, easy to keep for years and good value

There's lots of freshness here! Lush blueberry preserve, nestle cocoa powder, lightly toasted bread.

The least oaky shiraz from Penfolds. Very clear, elegance, not too heavy. Red and purple fruit. Candied cherry or cranberry jam. This wine doesn't have a warm image which I easily find from Australian shiraz.

2007. Delicious, well balanced Shiraz. Decanted for about 3 hours prior to enjoying with roasted leg of lamb and a kalamata olive, caper, and harissa tapenade.

Medium-deep crimson. Red currant, red cherry and raspberry fruits, silky tannins and soft acidity. Tight in structure with generous palate.

I will state upfront the wine was a disappointment. There was nothing fundamentally wrong with it. Its biggest issue was the lack of personality, it possessed zero "pop". I doubt storage was an issue.
