This 2015 Aussie Shiraz, RWT from Penfolds is dark, broody and voluptuous. The vast majority of my Australian wine experiences are of lower end, mass produced juice bombs. This is a cut above and some.

A taste gifted by an employee.
Had been open for 24 hours but it's large stance held up somewhat.
Silky and gluggable which is what we all want right?

It's a wine for the cellar! It has all the characters of a great wine but it just needs some more time in the cellar. I have another bottle but I will cellar it for a least another 10 - 15 years minimum

The was excellent as well. Bigger, bolder, younger the the Bin 150. An explosion in the most of darks and big tannins, expresso and dried florals. Needs 10 years for the first bottle.

Dug this. Porcini, beef stock, soy, blackberry, plum and boysenberry. It's dense and compact now with fine and long grained tannins, super length but is approachable now should will power be against you.

Oh...my...Lord. This, was absolutely amazing.

The nose is almost the best part.. we'll say 60/40. The nose is full of gamey grill notes, graphite, mint/basil combo, (even provancal herbs), pomegranate juice, sandalwood, and cocoa powder. 14.5 % alcohol, so the wine has deep concentration, and exhibits noted of stewed black cherries, gravel dust, ripe red plum, rib meat, pepper spices, and a gorgeous smooth finish that makes you cry when the bottle is empty. I need more of this kind of red in my life. Wow.

Got an amazing deal at a wine bar for $40 off, from $120 a bottle, and my Sunday is made.

Cheers!
