White boned fruit and notorious oak. Chardonnay on the exuberant side.

Pale lemon yellow. Citrus, green apple. oak vanilla. Buttery. Dry. Fruitiness M Sweetness M Acidity M++ Bitterness M Penfolds Koonunga Hill Chardonnay 19 @, AD, 251129

Bit too sharp

Vanilla, lemon, flinty notes along with a minerally, chalky touch on the nose. It's not minerally like a Chablis but there is a thing there. The palate is mostly acid driven, in an almost unbalanced way, which is surprising for chardonnay. The finish is lemony and shows a touch of vanilla. It's good but not great. A good sipper which could benefit from a nice creamy meal to go along.

Took 45 minutes to morph from sour and astringent into a round sulpur driven chardonnay. Testing out the new fireplace... Almost done with the complete rebuild of our home, this time with a fully equipped wine cellar. More pictures of that separate project to come.

Sainsburys: nice but have marginally preferred other chardonnays recently
