Third and last bottle of the vintage. Definitely yum for an old school Cali Zin, but relatively sedate or refined versus trad Zinfandels. Needs two hours minimum decanting.

Purple-red, moderately to highly extracted pigment, very good clarity. Leather, mint-eucalyptus and red fruit (raspberry, strawberry, maybe blackberry) notes in nose, with a hint of butter and prune. Black currant and butterscotch flavors, some seed bitterness and chewy tongue coating tannins in finish. Mild skin astringency initially. Needs time for tannins to die down, but flavors are “good to go” on opening the bottle. Tart cherry and an almost-cranberry flavor emerge after 90 minutes. Yummier than I remember my previous tasting of this vintage.

Generous tasting Zin. Great finish. A Dry Creek Zin with polish.

Vintage 2015 - Spicy smell, peppers, powerfull, good acidity, cherries, minerals. The alcohol bothered me a bit (14,9 procent) but it is good integrated in this wine. Nice #zinfandel.

A spicy and fairly typical Zen nose with no hints of being cooked. Sweet reddish to black fruit, very nice acid and spice. Slightly chewy. The fruit is tamed by hints of leather and earth.
