This is a quite good smaller production Cabernet. It’s a big wine with just enough dark cherry fruit, bitter mocha tones, and a pleasant finish. The tannic structure is a bit thick, but not unpleasantly so, like one of the better Lodi Zinfandels.

Pedroncelli makes their wines (some of them, anyhow) in these enormous two story wooden tanks, made of California Redwood, of all things, dating from before such usages were restricted. Most of their wines are good-but-not-great, worth trying if they are on sale.
