Been doing a lot of ‘15s lately, this did not disappoint.

Rustic and brambly with notes of wild blackberries and raspberries, tart red cherries, violets, raspberry popsicle, cinnamon, and a hint of savory soy sauce. The juicy fruit notes are balanced by a yummy umami quality. Med+ acidity and med- tannin.

Love this vintage. This is like Cru Beaujolais in California. Lean, fresh and rustic bistro wine with bright pomegranate, raspberry, floral and spice notes. I love what carbonic maceration does for this wine, providing aromatic lift and creating a linear shape and movement on the palate with just a bit of fine tannin building off the mid palate. The drop off is a bit sudden but that is the style Pax has crafted from this vineyard and I happen to love it. Morgon fans will dig this wine, and I’m just a huge fan of this very focused vintage.

Brilliant Carignane that matched a spring afternoon sipping in the sun. Refreshing red fruits. Slight sharp tang on the finish.

Very fun juice. Whole cluster, carbonic and quite quaffable. More cru than nouveau, with good tannins and body. Should drink well for a couple more years. #glou

By now I can spot Pax in a lineup. Inky but feather light - nearly always sub 13% ABV. Concentrated, stripped of fruit and outside influence. Whole cluster and tart green. Youthful. New world with a nod to old world.

Testa fits. Lean, restrained, with a ruby purple. BlackBerry and crushed rock.
