North Coast Syrah

Dark Ruby color with blue and black fruit aromas, spicy, slightly herbal/floral nose. The palate shows cherry, blueberry and blackberry fruit with pepper spice, lively acidity, firm tannins. Medium finish ending with fruit, slight spice and floral notes. While its ok, I was expecting the Northern Rhone style.

Really great wines from Pax. So much Northern Rhône influence.

Subjectively speaking it’s a higher score. I love the lean-fruited old-world style. only 12.6% alc. plum, olive, baked raspberry. I think it would be beautiful in 10-15yr.

Clean, rich fruit with intense aromatics and a proportioned perimeter of iron & rocks.

Phenomenal bang for your buck. Savory purple fruit super complex and not lean despite sub 13% abv. Paired with leg of lamb.

Perfect, chewy Syrah!!

Sheer drinkability is up there! Great blend of the northern Rhône and California Syrah. Yum! Definitely unfiltered.

Kirsch cherry liqueur. Redwood. Fruit and acidity. Good texture but medium minus body. Will age well. Beautiful now.

When someone says breakfast wine, I usually think of mimosas, roses and bright crisp porch pounding whites. THIS Syrah is breakfast wine, but for completely different reasons. First, the nose: maple syrup covered breakfast griddle sausage. Then, as you slurp it on down, the mouth is completely crispy meaty maple bacon with a French roast coffee finish. You can practically crunch the grinds in your teeth, it’s so chewy. And when I say maple, this juice is by no means sweet, but all essence. Yep, I’d have this for breakfast. Errr, with breakfast. Move over latte, you’ve been replaced!
