Le Chant des Griolles Muscat de Beaumes-de-Venise

Muscat not my favorite varietal but here it really shines: tension, focused, with that wide, flowery & confectionery nose, on palate mango, lemon curd, & a gorgeous sweetness. .375 ml bottle.

The weekend upon us and we're hosting another dinner party for a couple of friends. Tonight's theme was Rhone wine, so good stuff on deck.

Couldn't get to notes; Entertaining guests first 😉.

Paired with Spanish Almond Cake, perfect.

Paul Jaboulet Aine Dinner; 10 March 2018 at Chez Nous Bistro, Lee, MA

Honeysuckle, floral, lemon and orange zest. M+ acid, m body and alcohol. Balanced, long finish, minerality. Hint of bitter citrus.

From 375 ml. Low acid and diminished Muscat aromatics. Maybe not meant to age? Still serviceable with fresh cherry pie baked by my wife and daughter.

Surprisingly cloying BdV…indistinguishable from a Sauternes…I blame the age

Really exceptional. Got the recommendation from a small shop owner in Évian and am so thrilled I took her advice.

I love PJA wines & @ £26 I had to try this dessert wine - my 1st Hermitage Muscat - if you want good value sticky licky goodness then it’s a well made drop for money 👍

🍷 Golden yellow

👃 Charred orange zest, fertiliser, grass, apricot, melon, honey, smoke, sweaty socks & beeswax - yeah crazy!

👄 Med+ very sweet pineapple, apple, honey, syrup, apricot, mango, orange liquor, light citrus

🎯 Long sticky sweet gooey mouth coating of above

I forget how good this can be. Apricots, honey. Delicious.
