Off year???? Don’t think so. Full. Silky smooth. Great tannins.

This cork challenged my ah so skills but I prevailed. Slow clap 👏🏽 for me. Decanted for 6 hours and it was in a really nice place. Dark dark fruits, smokey game meats, cloves, herbs and white pepper. Still quite young and on the ascension.

thought it could be overvalued, but it lived up to its reputation.

Smooth, well-balanced, black and blue fruits, blood and iron. Not as much pepper or game as I would look for but still lovely with a long, complex finish.

I am on a bit of a Rhône drinking path right now and since I had quite a few bottles of this 06 La Chapelle I decided to open one. This is drinking great right now and better than the last 06 I opened. Quintessential La Chapelle with tobacco and earthy notes and the pleasing smooth red berry notes. This is lovely right now.
