Big Russian River Pinot. Lots of extraction. Typical ripe cherry, cola and tea. Some whole berry? Oak coming through as a vanilla note. A touch hot, but enjoyable.

Hints of tomato paste (umami, light citrus,and bright expressiveness) and blackberry at the open. Leather and tobacco with forest floor follow closely.

2013. Stemmy and plummy as all get out. Medium bodied. Well made-as all the PH estate stuff is.-with acidity/tannins for days. Balanced and intense.

Number 2 of my 3 bottles. And this is improved over number 1 from a year ago. The initially overly fruity intro of a year ago has integrated. Its RRV all the way thru. I'll wait two years for my 3rd bottle. Cheers.

A very nice Pinot that was unfairly outmuscled last night. Jeffy, this may go down as the best last place wine in the history of wine tastings!

Oct 16th, 2016An elegant if not refined expression of Russian River Pinot Noir. Lots of fruit on the nose followed by flavors of raspberry, currant and just a slight hint of anise. The finish is a little peppery with some tartness that lingers very nicely. A good start to our evening.
