Last stop on day one in Sonoma was at Patz & Hall Winery. Last white wine was their Chardonnay from the Bootlegger's Hill Vineyard.

A touch cloudy in appearance and medium yellow. Rounded nose with canned peaches, lychee, white fruits, citrus, floral and a touch of creme brulee. Medium acidity (6.5/10) and medium plus to full bodied. Acidity comes through the palate with some candied stone fruits, citrus and a little floral. Long finish. Drink till 2025. $$

They did a great job balancing the presence of oak where it’s present but not too much.

Chablis like nose. Well balanced, hints of mint and vanilla.

Light golden color and bright citrus with floral aromas initially. Grapefruit rind, pineapple, and white flower are present and are followed by some scents of rich graham cracker. Full bodied texture but still with a brightness the is reminiscent of a lemon cream and some grapefruit. The finish is medium plus and shows mostly pear, citrus, and graham cracker this is lovely. As the wine warms in the glass the aromas show more of the graham cracker.

Just stunning. Minerality, lively, and balance.
