I like the cooler vintages, but still a lovely estate grown Pinot.

2008 vintage. Pop and pour. Still some unresolved co2, but underlying that and with a quick decant shows good, clean, slightly stemmy PN aromas; cherry, blackberry, underbrush. Good with both turkey and salmon.

Clear ruby with more extraction than typical for 2011. Nose of black raspberries, plums, and some wet stone minerality. Very pretty black raspberry fruit with black pepper highlights framed by zippy acid. Reminds me of why 2011 was a spectacular vintage in the right hands. And these are the right hands.

Angular, crisp, red fruited. A bit firm, possible to evolve in bottle. Some unresolved CO2, is my only concern.

Lots of smokey char bacon flavor up front, I presume from the barrel. Smells a little of black licorice and dried black cherry, the black cherry flavor comes through when tasting. Maybe a little white pepper in the nose too and a little pepper in the finish. I'd happily put this in my belly.
