Passopisciaro
Passobianco Terre Siciliane Chardonnay
Peachy and creamy but also with citrus notes. Very new world. Quite opulent considering it was grown at 1000 metres. Medium bodied with oak well integrated. Well made.

Oct 11th, 2017I believe that Carricante has the potential to be this good, but I can't think of a white wine from Etna I've found this beautiful.

Apr 3rd, 2017Unique chard that shows warm climate roots but sheered down by high altitude growth. Saline, smokey, layers of tart citrus and hints of lusher notes like stonefruit. Very mineral core throughout.

Jul 21st, 2016Strong minerality and dry. I would have found it more interesting with a third element, but it was still enjoyable.

Apr 27th, 2024Delicious. This is a very interesting expression of Chardonnay. Minerally but different than Chablis. Excellent.

Nov 15th, 2023A Chard from Mt. Etna? Little did I know that this is one of 8 wines from Andrea Franchetti’s Mt. Etna project started in 2000.
The nose is gentle with ripe stone fruits, green apple, light toasted nuts, and light spices. Hint of smokiness as well. The palate is quite viscous for Chard with round acidity. Touch of sea breeze on the clean finish. Nice experience.
10 months in combination of cement vats and large oak barrels.

This wine sorta tasted flat like apple juice with almost no acidity, very round and plump. No oak. I would never have guessed Chardonnay. Something weird happened here.
