Taken to Selby's in Redwood City. Tawny color, with a deep reddish center and clear rims. Almost opaque. Awesome aged Barolo nose. Notes of a cup of dark red fruit, tea, rose petals, anise, mocha and some balsamic thing. Great balance of the remaining fruit with softened tannins. In a great spot for drinking.

And to think that people used to tell me that 1990 was too ripe of a vintage to mature gracefully. This mature, dark beauty was luxurious on the nose and palate with earth tones balancing it's rich fruits.
