This is a terrific wine. Very Aloxe-Corton. Surprisingly firm for 6-yrs. old. Nose takes some air to develop, but then shows bright black cherry, loads of minerally gravel, a bit of spice and a lick of licorice. Very intense in the mouth, but in a very balanced frame. The intensity contrasts with a delicate mouthfeel. Nice acids and tannins barely noticeable. This will certainly improve over the next 2-3 years.

Color of bubbly clear dark ruby with orange and brown note on the rim. Nose of good fresh berries, even dark fruits notes, plum, but fades away quite quickly. Taste follows the nose with addition of violet, cherry jam, good tannins, spicy and zesty, not a light Pinot for sure. Aftertaste of some more pellet spice note, and more zesty note. A bit too much bittersweet but definitely a unique Pinot.

The Garagiste write up on this is BS. Flat. Boring. Valued at exactly what I paid for it.

Bright, rich, pretty. Boozy though, and a little closed still. Bet it’ll be very nice in a couple years.
