This is a terrific wine. Very Aloxe-Corton. Surprisingly firm for 6-yrs. old. Nose takes some air to develop, but then shows bright black cherry, loads of minerally gravel, a bit of spice and a lick of licorice. Very intense in the mouth, but in a very balanced frame. The intensity contrasts with a delicate mouthfeel. Nice acids and tannins barely noticeable. This will certainly improve over the next 2-3 years.

Located in the Eola-Amity Hills AVA, the ‘Schindler Vineyard’ is a very small site planted to Pinot Noir and set on marine sedimentary soils. A light whiff of salinity runs through the nose with kirsch and peat moss aromas that all meld in the glass. The palate has good freshness and energy with bright reed fruits that dance with shades of blood orange and minerals. The seductive mineral and dark fruit driven finish lingers long on the palate. Enjoy this fantastic new bottling over the next decade or more. Drink 2019-2029- 92

Light reddish purple in color. Very subdued nose with a little bit of red fruit and a slight herbal tang. Seems to have entered a closed phase and might benefit from a decant. Sour cherry and tart cranberry evident on the palate leading to a bitter finish. It’s light bodied with high acidity, light, fine grained tannins, and 13.1% alcohol. Although this was sold by Garagiste at a big discount off the $50 release price for the single vineyard bottling, I’m just not a fan of the Willamette Valley ‘13’s. Of note, Panther Creek was originally founded by fellow Kentuckian Ken Wright.

Color of bubbly clear dark ruby with orange and brown note on the rim. Nose of good fresh berries, even dark fruits notes, plum, but fades away quite quickly. Taste follows the nose with addition of violet, cherry jam, good tannins, spicy and zesty, not a light Pinot for sure. Aftertaste of some more pellet spice note, and more zesty note. A bit too much bittersweet but definitely a unique Pinot.

The Garagiste write up on this is BS. Flat. Boring. Valued at exactly what I paid for it.

Bright, rich, pretty. Boozy though, and a little closed still. Bet it’ll be very nice in a couple years.
