Big and bold but beautiful Napa Cabernet. Such a purity of fruit here and masterful use of oak. Would love to try these at 10 and 20 years older

Wednesday Wine Committee. Great hosting by Gavin. 1 sparkler, 4 whites, 4 reds and 2 dessert wines. All served blind as usual.

A very pretty wine. Fairly integrated, smooth and balanced. Aromatics of blackberries and black cherries, black tea and vanilla pipe tobacco. The entry was a bit light but the mid palate was beautifully textured and sweet. Slight herbal character toward the finish, which had me call this left bank Bordeaux from mid 2000s.

Drinking damn good right now. Just tried two different bottles, and they were consistent with each other. Soft with nice acidity, and multi-faceted

Love Palmaz wines (and I might love their winery tour over their wines, which says something about their tour). Elegant red, blue and black fruits. They rush at you, but give way to earthy and herbal secondary notes alongside Mexican vanilla. The finish is lengthy and velvet like. This is a Napa Cab that is so easy and enjoyable to drink.

Red fruited beauty. I'm always taken aback by how this winery knows how to withhold over manipulating a wine. Very beautiful.

Really love this wines red fruit tension against its firm tannin structure and balanced acidity. This could've went the way of too many overly manipulated wines with the technology this estate has, but it seems they know where to stop and let the fruit shine. @Capital Grill in Austin for Palmaz luncheon.

I am so pleased to see how our first vintage has come along. What a precious darling...

Deep, dark and barely showing signs of bricking. Aromatically, damp forrest floor, decaying oak leaves, subtle eucalyptus tones are primary, with roasted dates and mission fig supplying the fruit. The body is medium plus, with brilliant acidity to lift the palate from its concentrated fruit to its vivacious yet fine tannins, the wine really springboards to the next level on the finish, gripping and lasting for 30 plus seconds of dark, earth-driven delight.

Rock and roll. Didn't disappoint. Silky smooth.

Really nice. Borderline decant. We did not and enjoyed over 3 days. Balanced fruit and oak with a smooth mouth coating finish.
