No syrah in 2016, Mourvèdre/Grenache with a splash of Cinsault. Have to say I think this wine is great. 2nd time I've had it in two weeks and I like it even more this time. Seamless with graceful tannins. Meaty, Bing cherry, that sense of musk (not the smell) but the confidence. Kinda like the Brawny paper towel guy. One of my favorite wines in the last year. The other- Villemade's '15 Ardilles so 🤷🏼‍♂️

This is the best bottling I've had from these guys. On the second day it really is hitting all the notes with about a three octave range.

Deep ruby red with garnet edges. Layered nose with sweet spices, cinnamon, brown sugar, dark fruits, herbs, and a touch of earthiness. More spices than just sweet spices on day two. Medium tannins (6.5/10) and medium bodied. Rich mouthfeel with spices, blue berries and smoked pepper. Day two added darker spices, more blue fruits, a touch red with some additional layers of herbs and pepper. Nicely balanced with solid acidity. Long and lingering finish. Drink till 2022.

Got as one of the three bottles in the WineStyr All Red Wine Club shipment.

Terrific wine from Ryan Pease at Paix sur Terre. Still retaining a lot of fruit and very elegant on the palate, this has really developed nicely over that past few years. Not sure if it’s going to improve much at this point, so my advice is to enjoy this one now.

Heavy on the Grenache and Mourvèdre in 2014. With a backbone of deep fruit Syrah and inky cinsaut to round it out

Rhubarb pie nose. Lots of pepper and spice with dark plum and tobacco finish. A bit light on mid-palate weight ... maybe ... going back and forth between this and Saxum JBV '12. Running low on research subject material. Wife far preferred this of the two last night. Now switched vote and went to sleep. Still studying. 55% Grenache, 30% Mourvèdre, 12% Syrah, 3% Counoise.

Another winner from Ryan Pease at Paix sur Terre, "Songs of its Own" is a GMS blend (58/30/12) that is a bit young, but still boasts the elegance that Ryan seems to be able to get in all of his wines. If you haven't yet tried these bottlings, I strongly recommend that you snag some and see for yourself!
