First wine for Chops Grille House. Decanted for five hours and definitely helped with the heat. Deep and dark ruby red with a touch of garnet. Layered nose with volcanic ash, dark raspberries, oak, dark cocoa and dark spices. Medium plus tannins (7/10) and full bodied. Lush and rich palate with red mountain berries, dark sweet spices, a bit dusty and a little anise. Long and lingering finish. Drink till 2027.

Not quite as amazing as I remembered, but still elegant and bold with a silky structure.

10' O'Shaughnessy Howell MT Cabernet. Loving Howell MT. Certainly not the most complex wine. Who gives a crap ...It's absolutely delicious! Smooth & such a crowd pleaser!

Never a bad night when you open this guy. Was a little bit bigger than the dinner needed, but everyone at the table loved it (as they should).

A lot of oak, but the wine handles it well. Very ripe with a lot of concentration. Quite floral

I knew that keeping these guys around was a good idea. This wine is in a REALLY good spot tonight. A flavor profile VERY similar to their next door neighbor but this wine is a crazy cuvee of 88% Cab, 5% Merlot, 3% Malbec, 2% PV and 2% St. Macaire. Wins the "black cork" award! This wine has power, is very thick on the palate, yet elegant in places. IMO probably not even ready to go just yet. Decanted for an hour. POWERFUL blackberry and vanilla nose. The entry still has some oaked character. Tobacco to the middle with powerful blackberry, some dark chocolate, mint, herbal. The finish was baking spice kind of spicy, still quite tannic with good acidity. This wine is a stand-alone stunner. Probably still five years away from a true pop and pour. Delicious!
