Rooty, spicy nose. Black cherry, raw ginger, dried violets. Lots of macerated dark berry fruit on the palate with notes of cinnamon and black tea. Definitely gets points for not being boring.

Pleasant surprise - never heard of this wine which is apparently a kitchen sink Piedmont blend but it works oh so well - gorgeous purity of red (cherry) & darker fruit, rich ripe concentrated w/caressing tannins with some spice & lifted floral notes and decent enough acidity to tie it all together on the palate and thru finish. Absolutely Fantastic

Sep 24th, 20142011, Osel, Ruche, Di Castagnole Monferrato, Ruche. Very Pinot Noir like. Bright, transparent ruby with red fruit and spice. The spice and herbal aromas/taste we're not as prominent as I expected.
