Boys night out. OS in the house. 16 is good to go. Previous vintages pip this, but no complaints.

Aug 24th, 2019A blend of Cab Sauv, Cab Franc, Merlot, Petit Verdot & Petite Sirah, aged for 15 months in 45% new French oak. Deep Ruby with aromas of ripe berry fruits, cigar box herbs and flinty notes. On the palate ripe black cherry, currant and blackberry flavors with espresso, mocha and earthy leather. Well balanced, lively acidity, fine dusty tannins long finish ending with fruit, cedar and toasty mint pepper spice! Nice!

Dec 28th, 2019At Canyon Village Yellowstone. A little flatter profile than I was expecting, but still very drinkable.

Jun 9th, 2019Had to try the 2016 vintage and I think it is better than โ15. Of course itโs fruit driven but it seems to have more depth and be more balanced. Blackcurrant, vanilla, baking spice and some lightly bitter cacao on the palate. I think for the price this a great โheavyโ Napa Cabernet. A good Papillon should hopefully mean that there is a good Mercury Head to be tasted; looking forward to finding out.
