Machete Petite Sirah Blend
Wow, a Fav! Had another bottle about 7 mos ago. Blend of Petite Sirah, Syrah & Grenache and aged for 10 months on French oak (40% new). A deep red color with aromas of black fruits and sweet spice. On the palate, ripe plums, jammy blueberries and sweet cherry with slight oak and vanilla spice, pours like syrup. Lingering finish, good length allowing the soft tannins to open in your mouth. Good structure, ending with pure fruit and dash of minerality, drinks well now. Produced with 12 different labels. Wow!

Aug 9th, 2021Machete and Team Fortress 2. Decent night. The last of my Christmas wine. …Gasoline, boysenberry, & blackberry on the nose. Sharp, almost tangy front. Notes of black tea & leather on the front. Plum, blackberry, & blueberry mid-palate. Tannic raspberry finish. Not quite as lush as other vintages. That tangy-ness sticks with you. Still beautiful, though.

May 23rd, 2021Smooth. Well rounded. Bold flavour though. Consistent from beginning to end. Doesn’t overly hit you with tannin but is bold. Lots of plum and black berry. Vanilla too.

Dec 17th, 2020Insane concentration and richness. Completely over the top.
It’s big, it’s large, it’s tasty and impressive. But it lacks some complexity and layers.

I read a lot about the heat and the alcohol regarding this wine.
As everything is personal I can only reflect opinion of myself and table guests who simply loved the wine. Fruit dominated but not jammy, lush and not overheated. I decanted 4 hours before drinking and it was absolutely a fantastic wine.
Everything comes together and it paired perfectly with the veal entrecote with “witbier” sauce. The bottle was empty too soon...
