Clos Saint Marc is a 4.2 acre walled vineyard on a hillside within the 1er Cru Les Vergers on the north border of the appellation overlooking St Aubin and Le Montrachet directly to the north. Olivier Leflaive’s 2010 is stunning. This bottle might even be better than the one I had on Christmas Eve last year. Lime peel, orange blossom, spiced apple, melon rind, oyster shell, and crushed white rock with racy acidity. What a wonderfully delectable pairing with garlic lemon butter scallops.

Great balance. Acidity and a creamy undercoating that comes with a little age. Just lovely.

Olivier Leflaive’s 2010 is stunning. Meyer lemon peel, orange blossom, melon rind, oyster shell, and crushed white rock with racy acidity and enough structure to go the distance.

No formal notes . Good bright lemon yellow colour . Fresh and ripe expressive yellow fruits , quite youthful. On the palate good backbone and extract , mineral finish with fresh acidity . Good length , still showing well , for now and over the next 5 years .

Great wine but you can taste the negociant fruit in the lack of depth. Still beautiful though. #olivierleflaive #chassagnemontrachet #premiercru
