Tonight's wine is the 2009 Obsidian Ridge Cabernet Sauvignon. Upon first opening there is deep juicy dark fruit that is very prevalent. Blackberry, prunes, fig, cream de cassis and a dark bakers chocolate. On the palate there is again big bold juicy dark fruit, blackberry, black currant, and black cherries. Notes of black pepper, vanilla with pronounced medium+ chewy tannins, medium + acidity and real good sustained length which doesn't want to end. I would think it still has a good 5-10 years in bottle to go. I think I purchased this for around $23.99.
