Always marvelous complexity and finesse, white peach, wet stones, petrol white tea leaves. Brilliant expression of Wachau.

Finessed, terrific complexity, bruised white peach, petrol, wet stone and a bit nutty along with tea leaves on the finish. Such a brilliant expression of Wachau.

Clean, complex, chamomile, beeswax. Fascinating textural notes that almost feel leesy - biodynamics?

Biodynamic!
Closed and oxidative at first, med-short finish. After a few hours, apple/pear nose, very dry in style, unique. Still some of the bottle remains for a 24 hour resampling.
This probably needs serious air time to get going, only bottled in 2014 after nearly 17 years resting in oak casks.

One of my favorites from Theise tasting on Monday. A "barrel sample" from '97. Funky yellow chalk & stone fruit.

A nose slightly reminiscent of fino but countered with a blast of freshness on the palate. Elderflower, chamomile, super energetic without a drop of petrol.

From magnum. Simply, a perfect wine. I've been lucky to have this several times, and each time, it amazes me with its purity, and layer upon layer of complexity.
