Nederburg
Manor House Cabernet Sauvignon
Enjoying this red during a nice art museum picnic. Don’t want to get confused by the pleasant atmosphere, because I’m enjoying the wine but it’s a bit mediocre upon careful critique. Quite dry and has a medium body. Good tannic structure. Strong notes of blackberry and vanilla, a little cedar too and has a nutty character. Maybe a bit too dry, too dusty.

May 11th, 2014Decided to go sideways with a little help of Vivino's style exploring feature. This South African Cab is a hot stuff - literally. It's not great nor bad, I would say it's a solid meat dinner mule, with enough acidity to cover its ripe fruit sweetness and nice spicy touch. Bouquet - at the begging sharp spruce, become mild and milder with decanting & goes into fruit side, some animal notes. Relatively short finish and basic tart aftertaste, not bad but is missing something catchy in palate
