Dark Ruby color with dark berry fruit and herb spice aromas. On the palate flavors of plum, cherry and blackberry with leather, cacao and dried herb notes. Fine tannins, medium+ finish ending spicy, good now.

This is one of my favorite everyday drinking Merlots. It is suitable as a cocktail or food wine. It has balanced acids, restrained oak, and subtle tannic structure. The predominant flavors are mocha and blueberry, enough to taste delicious when quaffed alone, but low-key enough to be a versatile food pairing.

Deep ruby in color with a purplish rim.

Fruity nose of blackberries, black currants, cedar, earth, vanilla, leather, tobacco, chocolates, vegetables, vinaigrette, licorice, spices, dark coffee, pencil lead and black pepper.

Medium plus in body with medium acidity and long legs.

Dry and fruity on the palate with blueberries, cherries, sweet raspberries, plums, cedar, vanilla, leather, spices, vegetables, diet cola, vinaigrette, tobacco, earth, bitter herbs, bell pepper, peppercorn and spices.

Nice length on the finish with gentle tannins and tangy cranberries.

This is a very enjoyable Napa Merlot. Well balanced and enjoyable by itself or with food. Shows nice complexity with typical Napa notes. This 4 year old is at its peak with a smooth mouthfeel.

Needs a couple of hours to open up properly and show some tannins. I would have probably liked it better a year ago, when it had more tannins.

I paired it with a cheese plate and crackers, and afterwards with grilled chicken skewers and wild rice.

100% Merlot grapes are aged for 20 months in French oak barrels (36% new).

14.2% alcohol by volume.

2001v. I remember trying this in 2003 and being underwhelmed but how time can change a wine. Coffee, leather, blue fruit and damn near perfectly balanced.

Big oaky merlot. Juicy with nice tannins. Left it open to breathe after the first glass and it opened up nicely
