To celebrate my kitchen remodel I chose this Chenin Blanc which I don’t normally drink but am enjoying. It has a little floral to it which is not something I usually like but it’s not overwhelming. Very crisp, semi dry with a hint of lemon.

Pale straw, green apple followed by subtle floral aromas. Complex palate! Full bodied and oaky, easily mistaken for a chard except for its acidity. I’m drinking it in late winter/early spring without food ... not what this wine wants, but oh well, it’s what’s open! 😂

Maaan. For how pale straw like the hue is, this Steen is a monster of a heavy mouthfeel and body having white! Steely minerality, crisp, underripe green apple, restrained tropical notes such as pineapple, and sage, rosemary traits loom large. Slightly effervescent.

Green mango, tangerine zest, medium mouthfeel. A classic goto wine, one of the first producers of Chenin, from SA, that was imported into the US. Steel in enclosure. Worth the greenbacks.
