Mount Pleasant Wines
Philip Shiraz
I read this has taken a big step up this vintage so picked up a case from DM at 13.60/bottle. Amazing buying. Clean fresh black/red fruit with a savoury and subtle sourness to it. Fine but firm tannins and long finish. Didn't get it to a second night but suspect would have been even better.

Jul 29th, 20152nd tasting a few months later and an upward appreciation, for this classic Australian Shiraz. On the nose as in the mouth the primary notes of fruit are respected with this little I don't know what typical of Australian syrah, something that reminds of Italian wines by the sweetness (blueberry, ripe, gaulry). Ageing in oak barrels is well melted. For its price range we it’s correct.

Incredible concentration and power (esp for the $$) Quite raw. Needs 5+ years for tannin, acid and alc to settle down a bit.
