Mount Pleasant Wines
Elizabeth Hunter Valley Sémillon
This bottle was a few years past its prime, showing slight oxidation which took the edge off the finish. Still incredibly moreish but lacking that vibrancy you get with a lively, aged Semillon.

May 23rd, 2021I was ready to pour it down the drain and.... JJJJJJJJJJJJJ!!!!!!!!!!!! That Hunter semillon had done it again.
Late released in 1998, 10% in alcohol, this wine is in such balance. Showing honeyed character, lime jelly, angled onion(or lemon grass if you prefer..i just picked some angled onion weeds in the backyard for my salad😬),marzipan, dried apricot, gingerbread, hay, lanolin and such a freshness that drives me nut. Have I been lucky? I start to think perhaps not.

What a treat on a Monday night. we had zero expectations for this wine and it blew us away.
An enticing honeyed nose with a smooth, long and moreish palate.
Worth the wait.

This wine is a puppy, but truly is delicious
It reminded me of the last Chassagne of Paul Pillot I drank
Great value and great vintage
Much better than the 2010

Very chablis like
Young, but enjoyable
So minerally i thought it was a Belford vineyard from Tyrrell

Definitely not coming from a top vintage I guess, but still very lovely to enjoy
One dimensional
Excellent with my penne rigate with cauliflower, Nigella, nutritional yeast, hemp seeds, radish and red clover sprouts, plus a good amount of cracked black pepper and pomegranate
🙏👍🍀

Exactly where you want a Hunter Semillon to be, at its peak
I’d buy this every time I meet it

Always a good little wine for the price
It never makes it to age as long as it should
Refreshing, satisfying, rewarding

Better than ever
Embarrassingly young
Not all the bottle are the same, but this looks like it could hold another 10 years
Not bad for a wine you would have paid 10 bucks when released 🙏
