A blend of 83% Cabernet and 17% Merlot, cool weather resulted in a challenging outcome. Aromas of black fruits and earthy spice. On the palate blackberry and tart cherry, oak, spice and cacao with firm dry tannins. Wine lacks depth, a bit of alcohol heat, medium finish. Drink now. Pricey, Pass. Tasting Sample.

2010 vintage Napa cabs all seem to have a similar dark, gritty richness about them. This one most certainly reflects that year. Dark blackberries and stewed black plum, nutmeg, leather, and black olive are apparent on the nose and pallet. The tannin structure is firm, and have barely subsided since I had it 2 years ago. They are well integrated and smooth, with a delicious mocha finish. My favorite vintage so far now has been the 2013 for its richness and smoothness, but this one is for the lover of a more rustic Cabernet. This one will be great in a few more years!

sourced from southeast corner of oak knoll protected by two mountain ranges (Atlas Peak & ??). Blackberry, cassis, red and dark cherry, stemmy characters, allspice, black pepper, overall more angular than Howell Mountain Hillside Blend. Chalky tannins around gum.
