A PN from Casablanca Valley in Chile from rather young vines grown biodynamically. The wine is made in concrete eggs and sees no oak. The color is farily dark red-blue; the nose is far from Burgundy as the fruit is darker and heavier with ripe cherries, raspberries and some blueberry, and with crushed rocks, floral notes and hints of liquorice (which I rarely get on pinots); the structure on the palate is rich with fine tannins and it carries respectably over the midpalate into a long finish dominated by rustic, earthy minerals and white flowers. Clearly new world in a unique excitig style! Paired it with some Django Reinhardt guitar-dixie tunes on vinyl and an assortment of Spanish porcine and bovine products! Happy Friday!
