Started sweaty and very earthy on the nose. Getting some leather and fruit after awhile. Soily, smokey cherries and dark fruit coming through early but not a memorable finish.

smells like plastic, animal funk/fur, compost, wood, blackberries, black cherries, leather, faint blood... palate brings strawberries, red licorice, some charcuterie and garrigue. nice smooth lively mouthfeel with good acidity... a bit of rhone in chile.

Nov 28th, 2016Nice balance of sweetness and acidity. Can "taste" the French Oak barrels this sits in for 10 months (hint of cinnamon and spice).

Too tart for my taste to drink alone. Better with Italian food- tomato sauces.
