100% Sangiovese grapes, from vineyards consisting of shale (Galestro) 70%, sandstone (Arenaria-Calcare-Pietraforte) 20%, limestone (Alberese) 10%. Deep Ruby with aromas of red and black fruits with sweet spice and earthy floral notes. On the palate flavors of black cherry, blackberry and currants with tobacco, licorice and vanilla, adding pepper spice. Fine vivid tannins, medium+ finish, well balanced with acidity, ending with fruit and earthy mineral character. Nice!

Little bit on the dark and brooding side of Chianti. Still quite enjoyable. Just not top-tier

A bit flat on the finish, not all that much body. Drinkable but would pass on a second bottle. Helen’s.

At Troutbeck, Amenia, NY.
Very subtle integrated tannins. Nose: Plum, pool water (could be the glass). Red berries, hay fields, red currant.
