Duck with cherry sauce calls for Tassie or Mornington pinot. Tonight it’s the latter and from the first whiff in the decanter it was clearly a good choice. Really enjoying this one with its distinct bright cherry notes on nose and palate along with bright acid that gives it an air of lightness. Cleans the palate after each bite of rich duck, then the fine tannins call for another mouthful.

Great day of tasting in Mornington - brought this back with the brother for some home tasting, too :)

Wine #1 of our Friday neighborhood stoop sitting. Disappointed in this Pinot- it seemed burnt- like toast but not in a good way. Also cherries- burnt cherries. Lugged this sucker from Australia- tasted better at the winery (as most do.)

Free wine!!! This is what you get when you buy a case at the tasting room/cellar door to send to the states. Much thanks and love to my wonderful Melbourne hosts. Oh, the wine is great! A hint of pineapple?

Bright, intense black cherries, lively mouthfeel, broad and long. This a quality pinot from a good vintage. 5 years has settled it some but I'd give it another 3-5 to really see its potential come to the fore. Very good.
