La Tradizione Ruchè di Castagnole Monferrato Ruche

Surprisingly good on the first night. I had Montalbera a few times 8-10 years ago, and wasn’t impressed. This was not bad but faded quickly.

Found at Cucina Enoteca in Del Mar - San Diego County by the glass and at the other locations of this Restaurant group. Well not a 10 but for the money a solid 9. 🌹 roses, violets, cherry and Earl Grey tea. Ruche is a rare Italian grape from Piedmont often you get a shit wine from this very small appellation - this one is good.

strawberries. cherries. tea. a little alcohol forward. but highly drinkable. juiciness. from fermented grape. buy again.

Dark ruby red, medium bodied, and pretty easy drinking. Prune, cherry, tea, pretty floral, a little spice, barely any tannins, a bit alcohol-forward though (14.5%). From Fermented Grape on Vanderbilt.

So much black pepper. Lavender. Love this. Italy meets Crozes-Hermitage.
